July 6, 2015

Holy cow! This week has been hard! The language is super hard. I can honestly say that I can understand more than I can speak. It's kinda crazy. I am signing more than I am speaking Burmese. Isn't that crazy?

This last week was really hard. It consisted of us driving around and looking for people. All of our people cancelled or they weren't home to let us teach them. We also dropped 17 people. We are probably going to be dropping more as well.

This Saturday we went to the Water Festival for the Burma people. I just have to say, I had a Blast. There are various funny moments from this week. There was a spider in the door. We were babies and freaked out like screaming and everything. Then that same spider was in my Language study book and I threw it across the room. Then later I had the courage to get up and kill it.

On Saturday we were getting ready to go back to our apartment and Sister Young was like
"I want more food because it was so good."
"Okay but, what if we get wet? Then we have to repent, go home and get changed."
"It's going to be okay." Right after she said that, she took her water bottle, opened it and it exploded all over her. I just sat there and laughed at her.
"It's not funny," She said laughing.
"You just ate your words. It's kinda funny."

So after that happened we got out of the car and went to get some more food before we left for real that time. One of our formal Investigators came up behind Sister young and  dumped water all over her. Again I'm not a very good companion. I just laughed.  Then we literally ran to the car and left. It was so much fun. I learned so much about Burma and the culture there. The people are so lucky to be here in the United states. So that was for this week all the funnies.

So with the English class we do it every week for an hour and some of the Burmese come but also people from Nepal come as well. It's pretty fun and funny. The elders that do it with us are hilarious. They are in a different district and well a different zone to be exact.

July 4th we contacted people, came back early, planned and then went to bed. We didn't do anything fun besides go to the Water festival.

I love you guys.  It's time for me to go. I hope everything is going good. May The Lord watch over everyone.

With much love,

Sister Chelsea Blake
