1st week in Jerome. Baptism!! August 10, 2015

Dear Family.

I am so sad that Sister Young left. She has made a major impact in my life. It was like I lost my best friend. We have been become really close these last six weeks and it was hard to say goodbye, but I know that I will see her again. Heavenly Father knows how much I need her. She has changed me and made me a better person and missionary. I have changed my out look on my mission thanks to her. She taught me Burmese and in return I taught her Sign Language.  She has become a fan of it and is thinking of maybe changing her major. I told her she would be really good at it and she wouldn't have to do a Masters.  Because her dad pays for her college it would be good not having to get a masters. Then she doesn't have to go into debt. She is wanting to get three degrees and I told her that would be really cool. I have to say that this is going to be a major change for me this transfer. I know that the Lord is watching over me and blessing me everyday, because I choose to be a trainer.

Well my driving has been good, but I did get violations and an aggressive driving this last week. I was frustrated and almost said some very bad words, but I caught myself before I did. I hate being the main driver. I have a lot of stress on my part but i know that Heavenly Father is watching out for us and for that I am grateful.

This week has been really cray cray! (New word for Crazy) Haha. My wards are awesome they are so welcoming. We did have a baptism this week. Which was really crazy. Sister Cartwright is wonderful. She is very shy when she is around other people.  Along with this week being crazy, we did 12 week only once this week and even more crazy because we had a baptism on Saturday. The baptism was of a 9 year old boy named Jonathan Lightner. His mother and two oldest brothers are members and active, but the father isn't a member. We are going to be working on him. He just doesn't know it yet. He is very supportive of his kids and for that I'm very grateful, because when a parent isn't very supportive then it is hard on the child and to continue be active afterwards. So thankfully the mom is active. So that was crazy but exciting at the same time. President Curtis came and  he was really happy that the baptism went really well. The whole district came which was really nice. I am just glad that we have so much support. I definitely feel loved by the members here.

One of our struggles is that our phone hasn't been working - well the texting hasn't been.  So we have been having to call all of our people which puts more stress on us as missionaries. It's been kinda frustrating, but I'm getting over it.  Hopefully we can get it fixed soon or we may not have a phone by the time we get to Twin. Ha ha. We had to go to Twin Falls twice this week in two days. I had a Dr. appt. and Sister Cartwright and I were able to go to Lake Murtaugh for a ward camp out. It was really fun and nice to meet people from the 2nd ward. I know that Heavenly Father is watching over me

I want to hear about your guys week. Well I hope your week was good and not as crazy as mine. I sure do love you and I will talk to you next week!

Love you, Your best Sister Missionary in the TWIN FALLS Mission!!

Chelsea
