First Week in Rupert 9-21-15

Dear Family -
Wow can you believe it. I have been out 6 1/2 months! It is totally crazy!  Of those 6 1/2 months I have been in 3 different areas, had 4 different companions and most of the areas I was there for only 6 weeks. I think I am needed elsewhere.

My new companion is Sister Rhiner. She is from Illinois. She is super sweet.  The only thing is, she doesn't get up on time.  So my mornings are a lot longer that they need to be. The days go by really fast though even though all we really do is drive around. They don't set up appointments. I guess the people here are forgetful and they don't like to make appointments either.

I think this is going to be different also because Sister Rhiner doesn't like to do companion study or daily planning. I really think that it would be better for us to do those things. She also sleeps in like until 8:30 or 9. Sometimes it's hard for me to get up on time, but when I do I just sit there and study. By the time I get ready, its the time she gets up and starts to get ready for herself. It is odd that she has been out here for three months and she doesn't have the missionary schedule down yet.  I'll admit that I haven't been the best missionary, but I am working on it.  I know the Lord has seen that and has blessed me so that I can do the things I need to do. I can tell that my testimony has grown so much. I was reading my Patriarchal Blessing yesterday and I realized that I am suppose to be out here doing this work.  Even though sometimes I feel like I'm not suppose to be, I know that Heavenly Father has blessed me with this opportunity to serve thee. I have been blessed with so many great companions that have helped me become the person I am suppose to be.

I don't know really any of the investigators yet. I live with a woman who's husband just died last year. She is really sweet, but we don't really see her that often. It feels really weird being this close to Burley. I have heard a lot has happened in Burley since I left with the members. It is nice that they always ask about me. I really do feel loved.

It sounds that you had a busy week in Midway. I remember the heated indoor pool and I must say that I was sightly jealous. Ha Ha. But not anymore, because I got to play in water today while we washed the car. It was pretty fun. I honestly got pretty wet by the time I was done. The ground was really cold and so was the water. I felt like I was at the beach, except no sand on my feet. I think this week was over all really good.

I was reading a scripture in the Book of Mormon today while studying.  It is in Alma 37: 35 -37.
35 O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth;yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God.
36 Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.
37 Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

Just remember that the Lord wants us to pray to him. He wants us to talk to him.  The only way to do this is to pray to him when you wake up in the morning and the moment you go to bed at night.

I love you guys and don't ever for get it.

Until next week my lovely's!

Love Chelsea
