Dear Family and Friends,
First off, I just want to say that I am really sorry that I haven't been able to write you your letter yet. This transfer has been so fast that it is crazy. I feel like my time in Jerome has just begun and now it is to the point where I’ll be leaving soon. I have seen such growth in this area. Even though it started out really rocky, I knew that Heavenly father knew what He was doing. He knew that we needed to be unified together. Even though Sister Cartwright and I are different, we are the same in teaching. I have learned from her and she has learned for me. Even though it took a little longer, we achieved our goal on finding more people to teach. I have felt very blessed to be here in Jerome and the people here are amazing. They do everything that they can. I can only hope that this area does great with Sister Tomerlin and Sister Cartwright.
There is a thing that Sister Cartwright and I do that I’m going to miss. She is the Applesauce grandma. She would say applesauce in a funny grandma’s voice and then I would yell “MOM!!!” After a while she said "you must really miss your mom." I was like most definitely. I’m going to miss that little saying. It is said at least once or twice a day and we just laugh. I am really going to miss her and all the funny moments that we have had. I guess I will have to make new ones.
For transfers I will be going to Rupert. I will really be close to Burley. I’m excited for that. My new companion is going to be Sister Rhiner. She came out with Sister Cartwright. They were actually companions in the MTC. So that is going to be exciting.
Okay for this last week, we got a new investigator. Her name is Raylene Parker and she recently lost her husband. She is searching for trust. She turned to the LDS church because they are the only ones who have been helping her. She is doing the right thing by coming to the church for help. Hopefully Sister Cartwright can help her gain a testimony that this church is true.
We also have another family we are teaching, the Hurtado/Marien family. They are a part member family who apparently have been investigating the church for a while. The husband won‘t let them be baptized. The only reason one of the daughters is baptized is because she is not his. So if the girls want to be baptized, they have to ask him for permission. I really hope they do. They come to church every Sunday and they love primary and young women’s. They have the Spirit in their home and he doesn’t even know it.
There you have a little more information about the investigators. I love you guys and I hope everything is going well. May Heavenly Father watch over each and every one of you. May He continue to bless you guys. Remember the Savior in all of your doings. The Atonement Is real and I can testify of it, rely on it, lean on it and most important keep Him constantly on your mind.
Love, Sister Chelsea Blake
